The current economic climate continues to place pressure on household incomes and this pressure has impacted collection. Monthly targeting campaigns ensure our customers are aware of support available and we have seen an increase in demand for money advice compared to the same time last year. Partnership work with United Utilities has moved some elderly tenants to lower water tariffs and this project will continue in the year. Arrears are closely monitoring arrears with new approaches being promoted such as direct debit campaigns. Separately, focus has also been given to those with credit balances. Utilising the predictive arrears software which factors in expected payments the Group’s arrears position moves to 2.42% for Q2.
