A report went to EMT at the end of the quarter to outline the issues facing the income collection team, actions being taken and the ongoing improvements being made. These issues include the cost of living crisis (which is starting to impact our self funders, for whom we have started to provide more support), local authority DHP budgets being reduced (which has resulted in less payments made to clear/reduce arrears), a pause in legal action (but we are now actively pursuing court orders which will formalise repayment agreements and improve arrears collection) and an increase in HB suspensions due to local authority accuracy checks on claims before they migrate to UC.
